1. With what forces must the narrator in “The Yellow Wallpaper” contend? How is she kept from getting well? Who is involved? To what extent is she able to break free at the end?
2. Charlotte Perkins Gilman has her protagonist in “The Yellow Wallpaper” tell her story via journals. Does this work aesthetically (as a piece of writing or art)? Or, do you think Gilman is too interested in presenting her feminist themes that the story is over-whelmed by the message?
