I’ve always liked the RISP (Risk Information Seeking and Processing) Model, described in the Griffin et al. (2008) reading, because it offers a very comprehensive overview of the various social-psychological factors that drive people to look for and effortfully process risk-related information. To critically analyse the efficacy of the model, however, please complete the following for this week’s Discussion Question:
Identify a potential driver of information seeking and processing that, in your view, is absent from the current RISP model. Please: (1) identify what that factor is and how you would define it and (2) tell us where you would place it within the RISP model and why. That is, in what location would it ideally go in light of how the model is currently set-up?
