Discussion 1:
This week we are wrapping up our program! I have been working on my presentation for the oral defense of my project. Dr. Spears explained the layout of the presentation on our call this week. I do not have any questions.
Discussion 2:
It is hard to believe that we are in the final week of our capstone course and the final week of the MSN program. Congratulations everyone! This week, we are presenting our project orally to Dr. Spears and faculty members. According to Dr. Spears, she will grade the last part of the finalized paper by this Wednesday, and then we will be able to schedule our presentation. The format of the presentation may vary. I am choosing a PowerPoint presentation (PPP), which allows me to have available speaker notes during the presentation and prevents me from skipping important parts. My PPP has seventeen slides including references, the title page, and the objectives page. The only difficulty I believe I will experience is dividing my whole project into a 20-minute presentation. I have structured my PPP similarly to my main capstone project, which has helped me stay organized. The oral presentation is the first part of our project’s dissemination into life and practice. The presentation should include how the project was created and why, the importance of the project, the goals accomplished with the project, the literature review used for the project, method of project development and implementation, the findings and recommendations for the project, and the conclusion. This part of the project is self-explanatory, yet it is very exciting. I wish all of you the best of luck with your presentation and in your careers! I would like to thank Dr. Spears for all the help she has provided during the last two courses and throughout the capstone project!
