A. First focus – Establish a rapport or common ground with the audience to maintain their attention. (A quote, statistic or statement to help the audience focus on your presence and presentation)
B. Thesis – One statement summarizing your main idea.
C. Preview statement – A sentence listing the specific points (a,b,c,etc) you will discuss to support your thesis.
D. Relevance – A sentence explaining why the audience should listen to you speaking about the topic.
