The purpose of this assignment is to give you practice exploring the professional literature on instructional strategies designed for students who have mild or moderate disabilities. To this end, you will locate and review one research article from a peer-reviewed journal describing an instructional strategy that is relevant to your RtI project. That is, look for a strategy that would be useful as part of the intervention you develop for your case study student. You will write a short (3-5 page) analysis of the strategy that completely describes:
the instructional strategy including the purpose of the strategy, appropriate content area(s), type(s) of students it would be useful with, and the way in which it would be implemented (it is important you understand and describe how the strategy is implemented, step by step);
how it can specifically address the needs of students with mild/moderate disabilities;
how it could be applied to support the student within your RtI project;
how it could be applied to support learners within the general education classroom along with a consideration of other supports or student skills that might be necessary to implement the strategy within the general education setting;
accurate reference information for the article within a reference section.
