Watch “Frederick Law Olmsted: Designing America” and take notes to turn in with your class notes the day before our next class. Use your notes to fill out the columns of the attached “The Lasting Impact of Frederick Law Olmsted” Excel spreadsheet.
List all the important ideas, movements, places, park spaces, etc., that Frederick Law Olmsted contributed to and any other life events you think are important.
After you have input all the facts (knowledge) you have collected from watching the documentary in the first few columns,
use the last column to analyze and explain (use your critical thinking skills) how any of the parks, events, innovations, etc. may be connected as a progression/evolution of an idea and has had a lasting impact on society. Your analysis in the last column should be robust and be equivalent to a paragraph of text for each row. Expand the cells of the spreadsheet as necessary.
Review the grading matrix attached to the assignment for further clarity and to see how grades will be assigned.
Save your excel file with your last name as the first word in the file name and the words”Assignment 1″ as the words that come after your last name. Submit your file here on Blackboard when you are finished.
Place an order in 3 easy steps. Takes less than 5 mins.
